Do you encounter rude people on forums?

(not trolls, just people who are just plain rude.. Trolls are usually trying to get a reaction out of you whereas rude people don't really care what your reaction is, they are just jerks.. lol)



Are you one of them?

How do you deal with rude people?

Yes I have and nothing is more annoying when these types have overrun a forum like they have on place I don't post much at anymore because of it or simply found their way onto staff where they use their powers to silence anyone who calls them out on their behavior. I had that happen to me once too.

Reminds me of an event awhile back when me and an admin got into an argument and he threatened to ban me if I didn't quit talking to him.

Well one time I posted a topic about what people's orientation, and I had stated that I don't like the word gay and a couple of people started to say mean things to me about it. I posted saying something, and then the topic got closed becuase someone had made another topic of it.



Another time I had stated on a suikoden forum that I liked a character Lulu and Lulu is not a favoriable character for most. And people were saying things like This once again is no reflection on you as everyone is entitled to their own opinion, no matter how wrong it may be. People are giving their opinions and this bothers you because it isn't the same as yours. Maybe that's why you like Lulu so much. You're both childish. I said that some people there were jerks and then I got warned and I said I would probabally leave and then this other guy said some really offending things to me. He got in trouble too. I said I would come back after I was finished fixing my forums, If I do come back I wont be nearly as active as I used to be. And when I return I'm going to say I'm back, not like anyone cares Or would that start more trouble?



But anyways, I've met a bunch of rude and mean people.

I hate rudeness--can't stand it. There is no excuse for it and when I encounter it, I usually talk with them via pm--if I'm on staff.

I am in no way rude I am overly not rude to the point that it's annoying but not rude lol for example in the real world if someone would interrupt me while I am talking I'd shh them.

But yes I encounter rude people on the internet twenty four seven I see forums where the member walks all over the staff showing zero respect.

I just ignore them, they will get bored of being rude to people eventually. Pretty pathetic being rude to people online.

I hate it when people are rude on forums. Yes, I understand it's the Internet, and not much can be done about it except a warning and a ban, but this is the exact reason why I haven't really enjoyed running a forum much. I guess one day I'm afraid of a forum I have getting big and handling really rude members. That alone spells P-R-E-S-S-U-R-E. So yeah.

I've encountered a few. I usally ignore them. Or if it's an admin I'd leave and most probably never come back to the forum. (Both happened)

There was this one guy, actually one of my best friends in real life, and he wasn't staff but he started telling everyone what not to do/say. I eventually just told him, Look, everyone has their right to their own opinions and to say what they want. That's what this forum is all about. He's stopped being bossy and hasn't left the forum, either, so it was a win-win!



Also, I get a lot of rude guests that post in the chat box on the home page cussing and saying how lame or gay my site is. It's like, thanks guys, so nice of you. Glad you accomplished... whatever that accomplishes. Psssh.

Yes I have. I'm a generally nice person but if you are rude to me for no reason because you are a db, you will get that back in return and of course an ignore/block whichever is available.
