Any other Silent Hill fans here? I got into the series a couple years ago and Silent Hill 2 is one of my favorite games of all-time. Anybody looking forward to the remake or any of the new games they finally have releasing on the horizon after all these years?

Yeah. 1-3 are my favorites. Homecoming and Downpour, even the room were okay just not in my top list. I'm going to play the remake when it comes out. I wish the Silent Hills project had not been discontinued. It was shaping up to be something else. I am curious about all the other games coming out. So much to add to the list.

I enjoy the Silent Hill games, but not some of the newer ones. I fell out of the franchise when they hit number...4 or 5?

I have beaten Silent Hill 1-3, Origins, Downpour, and Homecoming. I don't know if I would necessarily call myself a major fan of the series, but a modest fan. I like the ideas and iconography of Silent Hill, but the melee combat has been mediocre across the whole franchise and I have never walked away from any of them thinking I had played a great videogame (not even the coveted Silent Hill 2 - I actually prefer 3).

I am excited for the remake of Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill f.

I haven't ever finished a Silent Hill game, but I have enjoyed the little bits I have experienced with them. They have been a series that I have been meaning to get around to playing at some point, although I would more likely stick to the Kojima era as post Kojima Konami is a bit of a train wreck. Been hearing about Silent Hill Ascension and what they are planning to do with that has killed off a lot of my interest in what they are going to do with the franchise in general.

Silent Hill: The Short Message just recently dropped, it is a short free game. Well I have heard it is short, I am currently playing now and it is pretty good. It has pretty strongly suicidal and depression/trauma tones, so people playing should be aware of that going in.

Edit: It is available to download on PS5

I never quite gelled with the series as much as I did Resident Evil. Most likely because there was more of a focus on being a 'psychological horror' game; with less action.

I've finished Silent Hill 1-3, and started playing The Room but.. didn't really like it as much. I haven't really touched any of the newer ones as yet.

What did you think of it? Worth a download? I have it downloaded but haven't had time to play it yet, heard mixed things.

Probably for the best. They have their fans, but the common consensus is that there's a slight drop in quality for The Room and then a huuuuge drop for all the other ones. Most people just think the western developed games don't have the same magic as the original series.
