You might be giving someone else cancer, and they're not even the ones smoking. I was once in a bus shelter with this businessman who was smoking, I asked him nicely to please step outside so that the other people wouldn't breathe in his fumes. I guess I just don't really like people in suits, but he didn't listen to me, so when I got to school, I stank of smoke.
Since my excuse sounded like an excuse, I had to pick up papers at lunch time. Not even my fault.

I don't mind going outside if I have to, but obviously I prefer a smoking section over going outside in the winter.
