Which one do you prefer? I’m a social media user but I’m also a forum user and love them so I’m going to have to say forums!

Wbu? :)

Both have good points. However, I'm Team Forum. Social Media, you can't organize topics. Also, people readily join them. I was in one group that had over 10,000 members but only the same couple hundred posted. You get lost in the shuffle. Facebook, I view as for family, friends you already know. For sharing those pics, keeping in touch, etc. Forums are for making friends. Lifelong friendships.

I prefer forums because my social media accounts are for people I know IRL and I have to think about what I post before posting it. Here I am anonymous and can say whatever I please without having to think about any consequences. :P

I can be more free here :runaround:

Oh wait, one person here knows who I really am and happens to live in my house. Lol. But he doesn't care what I say or do on here. My social media is full of family members, friends and co-workers though. Can't post anything too crazy on there, my boss will see it. :run:

I like forums more because the general layout and concept entice me more. Social media may have way more activity, but forums can be active at times too. I actually like that they're generally not as vast as social media and you can organize it however you like for a user-friendly layout.

Sometimes too active. If you join those groups on FB with hundreds of thousands of members your post will be buried in seconds. Its like shouting into the wind.

Both are very different.

Forums are great to connect with people, sell a product, market a service and make new friends.

Social media is amazing for networking with potential business partners, investors and clients, as well as connecting with long lost friends.

I prefer forums. But it seems most people prefer Social Media these days lol.

I would have to say it depends on what I'm using it for. If I'm trying to promote my modeling or acting then social media as it gets more attention and I get more connections/follows etc. there. However, if I'm looking for meaningful conversation and getting to know people than I'm forums all day. I would much rather forums but if I'm trying to promote something than social media is the way to go.

I much prefer forums.. the potential for deeper connections and genuine friendships are better than they would be on social media. However, for content, and sharing social media is good, and can bridge the gap with forums and that can add to the discussions that you have on forums.

You also have more control over trolls and troublemakers.. as well as privacy.

I much prefer forums but “most” people seem to think they are “dead and gone”. Buuuuut I will fight tooth and nail to keep forums alive.

Fora because they are not as draconian as social media who are forever badgering you to disable your adblocker and similar rubbish. For this reason, I have decided to delete my YouTube account.
