Spiders As Pets

If someone I knew had a spider as a pet, I would not know them anymore. I would NEVER EVER have one as a pet. Thinking about it makes me sick.

They are disgusting insects. I would never keep them either. One day someone will keep cockroach as a pet 🤢.

Do you know anyone that have spiders as pets? Could you ever have a spider for a pet? My spouse's uncle used to have a pet tarantula, though I think it died not too long ago. I absolutely hate spiders, they freak me out so I could never have one as a pet. Let alone I don't understand how anyone can have one for a pet. Any time there's a spider in my house it gets killed or sucked up in the vacuum cleaner. xD

Actually spiders and tarantulas are of the arachnid family, they are not insects. Anything that eats roaches is good in my book.

I don’t need to get any spiders as pets, I just have to step outside (and sometimes I don’t even need to do that), and there’s always one around. And no, I don’t know anyone who has them either.

A friend of mine had a tarantula as a pet... and the whole thing made me so nervous that I had to stop visiting her house.

She did try to ease me into it, and to "sell" me into how harmless and wonderful the eight-legged freak was... but no dice.

I wouldnt keep one on account of having a cat but if I went to someone's house and they had one as a pet, as long as they keep it in the tank/cage, it's fine with me.
