I can't really say as I've never steamed cleaned any thing. I'll stick to chemicals.

We use both steam and chemicals.

Steam works better.

As does chemicals.

They both are great for different uses.

There's a perfect hybrid of that.

Put the chemicals where you are supposed to put the water. Then use chemical steam to clean things!

I've never tried steam cleaning, but I would be hard-pressed to give up my penchant for using bleach to clean at least my kitchen, bathroom and laundry room. Nothing kills germs and crud better than bleach, in my opinion.

Bleach is most effective when you open it fresh the 1st time.. After that it slowly looses potency.

I have the Shark Steam Mop and Mini Steam Cleaner. The mop is awsome for the bathroom floor and the kitchen floor. The steam does sanitize. I will usually clean the floor around the toilets with cleaner and then steam it and the rest of the floor. I used it on my wood floors but I didn't think it did as well.

The steam cleaner is great for doing the smooth top stove, the toilet, and the fridge. When I take everything out of the fridge so I can get under the drawes and stuff, the steamer works great.

I can't say I use the steamers exclusively though. I still have Mr. Clean spray to wipe down the counters and fronts of the applicances. I mostly use the steamers when I do a deep clean of a room.

I didn't know that either. I have to use it on the white. How those boys get their socks so dirty is beyond me!

It really is, however there is a risk of damp. Anything is a good alternative to chemicals.
