Surprise party

Nor have you specified via your sock puppet account that the question applies only to humans who enjoy and are willing to participate in such event:

See? Not everyone are like you. Lots of us would rather sit alone in the dark than to participate in such or any other social activity. The fact you laugh and ridicule us for being different speaks volumes about you.

Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Sounds like you’re just wanting to debate. Okay, you win. Surprise parties are evil and anyone who throws one for someone is an abuser. Is that what you want to hear?

What I want or don't want to hear is irrelevant. You started a thread, I replied to it with my opinion on the topic, just like everyone else, you took my words out of context (quoted only the part that suits you and left out everything else) and proceeded to mock and ridicule me for my opinion which obviously differs from yours, which in most topics does, since we are completely different persons.

Perhaps I should pack my proverbial bags and leave your forum, if my opinions are / will be met with mockery and ridicule?

Mockery and ridicule wasn’t my intentions. I didn’t know you felt so strongly about this issue. This thread sure took a turn, sorry for offending you. Me and you are friends here, I thought you knew that!

In my opinion, surprise parties are a form of abuse, since you're essentially forcing a person to experience an unforeseen event, regardless of how that person feels about it. Unless you know a person well enough to know beyond reasonable doubt that (s)he'll respond positively to it, I wouldn't recommend trying it, especially if the person is an antisocial introvert. That's guaranteed to end in a disaster.
It depends on the individual; I mean, I've known a few over the years who'd absolutely go ga-ga over a surprise party thrown for them.

Me, on the other hand, as introverted as I can be at times? I'd freak out and have a panic attack if my friends threw one for me...maybe that's just me; we all have our own foibles and we just need to remember them.

C'mon, hug it out, fellas; hug it out...

My point exactly. Yes, there are people who absolutely love such events, they definitely exist, but there are also lots of people on the opposite side of the pole who dread and abhor any kind of social activity.

Arranging a surprise party for such humans despite fully knowing they won't like it is at the very least a display of blatant disrespect for them, their personalities, if not an outright abuse, if you force them to endure it.

One big no-no: Screaming how you went through all the trouble to organize the event for them and attacking them for not appreciating it. Major mistake. I mean, who asked you to do it anyway?

Life would be much easier if all humans were 100% identical in all aspects of their personalities, but alas, they are not, and mocking and ridiculing someone for being different doesn't make the world a better place, especially for those who don't want to live in it in the first place.

Nebulous wasn't trying to mock or ridicule you, you go back and forth with people in every thread on this forum and it's all in good fun, why is this particular issues hitting you so hard? You know he's got nothing but love for you, this sort of a reaction seems totally out of proportion for you. Take a deep breath, settle yourself down and try to realize there's no ill will here.

I wasn't talking about anyone in particular in that quoted part. If I was, I'd be naming the person. Perhaps it is all of you who are making a big deal over a difference in opinion? Isn't that what Internet forums are for?

Of course, if my opinions are not welcome here, just let me know so I can stop wasting my time. :)

You and your opinions are always welcome here!

I find it interesting how Serafin can freely state and debate his opinions, but when I speak my mind, I get mocked, ridiculed and ganged up on by the forum staff, as evident here.

But, never mind. Let's move on.
