The Sims is a strategic life simulation video game. It is one of the most successful video games series of all time.

Are you a sims fan? Own any of their games?

Believe it or not I have "Sims 2" on my old laptop and I still get into and build a new house or something now and then.

It doesn't have any of the expansion packs or updates, it's just the basic program with limited options and features. My daughter had bought it a few years ago and never installed it, so I did.

I had the 1st Sims and a few expansion packs. It was fun to play! I suppose I could get into it again. I'm more of a Sim City kinda guy though.

I have the Sims 2 here, it claims to be a deluxe edition.
Building some really ridiculous houses can be fun. Haven't played it in ages though.

It's not really my cup of tea. Like most sims and strategy games it lacks a good story and that's usually the most important part for me in single player content. I also just like blowing someone's brains out or swinging a sword around more than simulate a real life story.

I have Sims 3 on my PC along with Medieval. Also have them on my phone. They're fun.

I was interested in medieval but I got bored quickly. It's a shame the game doesn't have more maps. It all just felt a bit too gimmicky rather than a real game.

I just like how you can create interesting stories with it. And how the AI goes crazy when you're not there. I was playing as my guard captain, had to go visit the blacksmith and the queen. Both objective markers pointed to the castle, so I headed there.

The queen and blacksmith were in bed together.

Oh dear.

Sims 4 coming soon! http://www.gamestop.com/pc/games/the-sims-4-limited-edition/111452?loc=recordlist

I haven't played 2 or 3 yet.

I have the sims 3 and the sims 3 into the future as my expansion pack

Is it okay if I revive this thread or should I make a new one? *shrug* With the pending release of The Sims 4 tomorrow, I am looking forward to the shit-storm sure to follow. EA had issues with SimCity 5 last year and will most definitely again this year with their latest sims installment. I am waiting on this one considering how terrible a company they've been acting in the last few years, despite wanting to play this one. I think sitting back and wanting the maelstrom unleash is much better than being a part of it. And who knows? Maybe EA will suck up to the consumer and give us what we want instead of releasing it in DLC. In any case, this is one game I won't get at launch despite wanting to play it.

Two things there.

I'm surprised EA is still alive as a viable company given their recent history. Which means, if Sims 4 flops, they probably will too.

I'm also amazed that they are even attempting Sims 4 given all of the online versions such as WoW, Second Life, and the others.

Many people may regard you as a child if you play The sims. But I have the sims 3 and all its expansions and pre-ordered the sims 4. It will be released the same day my birthday is. Coincidence? Think not :D

That's awesome. I tend to only get Call of Duty or World of War craft expansions released near or on my birthday. However, AC: Unity is coming out 2 days before my birthday, so that's awesome! Maybe I'll ask for The Sims 4 for my birthday.

Superb. There are high expectations for AC Unity though I am not a fan of AC at all. Dunno why but I am not into that kind of games.

Reviving this one is perfectly fine. :)

I'm still behind in the times, sims wise.

I'm reading mixed reviews on this one, but since it's only been a day...not even a day, I'm going to wait to see what they do with some of the bug fixes and if players get pissed off and demand something more out of it.
