Professor John Sutherland from University College London has found the top ten words which parents do not understand.

His list included the following expressions:

TBT – Throwback Thursday
LMK – Let me know
RN – Right now
Fleek – Looking good
FOMO – Fear of missing out
Bae – Before Anyone Else (a term of affection)
ICYMI – In case you missed it
Deadout – Rubbish or tired
Thirsty – Looking for attention
NSFW – Not safe for work
