Three teenagers needed hospital treatment when they started vomiting blood after taking a so-called legal high, police said tonight.

They fell ill at around 5.35pm in Blyth, Northumberland, and paramedics were called to an address in the town.

It emerged the two girls and a boy, all aged 15, had taken a substance known as Clockwork Orange Herbal Incense.

They were taken to Wansbeck District General Hospital in Ashington after they vomited blood, and one of the girls was transferred to North Tyneside Hospital.

They were in a stable condition and will be kept in for a few hours for observation, Northumbria Police said.

Officers will try to find out the source of the substance.

Superintendent Alan Veitch said: "We want people to be aware of the dangers of taking drugs, including so called legal highs.

"I would like to stress that the use of legal high drugs is not safe and can kill or have a devastating impact on people's health.

"These substances often contain potentially dangerous chemicals.

Lucky they didn't die from this.

Never heard of Clockwork Orange Herbal Incense, have you?

I've never heard of that either. I thought it was something like marijuana, but now that they say "legal highs" obviously it's not that! Never heard of it.

I have not, though I'd wager hefty sums that my local "herbal remedies" store carries some form of it. I'm certain they operate a drug ring >.>

I found members on a website talking and asking questions about Clockwork Orange. Sounds very nasty! Here is the site.

O.o Yeah... This can't possibly be worthwhile, the risk just seems far too high.

Why?

Mostly because they keep changing address. Seems odd to keep moving the store around every 6 months or so. Plus, where does the money for doing that come from? So my logical conclusion is they run some kind of drug ring XD

Whoa! I read that one post from that person that only had one post and that litterally sent chills up my spine! The not being able to move, the inability to check and see if his house/apartment was locked up...wow, i could litterally feel my eyes widen when I read that! That sounds like some kind of scary crap that can happen when taking that stuff legal or not!

Edit: I do have a question though: What are those milligram dose scales they were talking about?

 Weird. Does anything happen to the buildings they leave?

The last one I remember is still closed up. Lots of places are doing that though. ~20% of the high street is empty now.

Maybe they're just constantly looking for something cheaper :|
