yes, the thing you use to make an actual phone call is an app on a smart phone that you could actually uninstall and remove if you've rooted your phone. Which would be a stupid thing to do.

The only 'apps' I've used in the past few months are core functions of my phone. Text messaging, calendar, alarm.
I play 2048 occasionally if that counts?
Honestly, I could easily live without a phone. 95% of the people I actually talk to, I have alternate means of contacting. The only real use my phone has is for my boss calling to get me to cover shifts at work, because he's shit at managing.
