Depends on the room IMO. We have a wooden floored living room and that's great, easier to clean and it's good for my fiance's asthma cause it helps keep the dust levels down. But we have carpet in the bedrooms and on the stairs. Not our choice, the landlord's, but I'm happy with that. Its warmer in the bedrooms and safer on the stairs. And we have tiles in the kitchen and bathrooms

My house is all tile.. Its common here in California because it gets really hot and apparently carpet can retain heat in your house..

Yeah carpet does retain the heat, I spose that's why I like it in the bedrooms here in cold England!

I have wood throughout with the exception of tile in my bathrooms.

I prefer carpet. I don't mind tiles in the kitchen or bathroom, though. I don't like waking up and stepping on a cold floor. Dx

Now I live somewhere else and its all carpet (except the kitchen, bathroom and a square by the front door).

I prefer carpet flooring, but my living room has wooden flooring which I'm not all that keen on.

Depends on the room. I like the warmness from a carpet but Wood is easier to maintain - Unless you scratch it!
