Topic and Forum Subscriptions

Do you ever subscribe to topics and forums so you get their latest posts? Would you rather do this and get notifications via PM, or notifications via email? And why would you pick the option you chose?

If you don't use this feature how do you stay up to date with topics?

I usually don't since I can navigate a forum to whatever topic I want to see.

I have done this on some forums and I prefer to get the updates via email. If it's not a particularly busy forum/topic, I like to get the updates as and when they happen. However, if it's one of those forums where LOADS of people post LOADS of things, I find that daily or weekly summary is more appropriate.

On the forums where I don't subscribe, I just check out the new posts to see what's going on. Or I look into the boards that interest me the most.
