I have two wal marts in my town.. One has a grocery side..

The other one is just a regular wal mart.

It seems like the regular one has a lot more selection (besides food)

Love that place.. Hehe.

Going to get a stereo from them $200 for 500 watts sony + sub woofer.

Only 'cause it's like right down the street. I like Target better. And Wal-Mart is evil

That's a different store for a different thread....lol.

But no, we don't have a Costco around here.

We buy hubby's meds, videos, household stuff--like deodorant, dish liquid, toilet paper--clothes.

I quit buying shoes there as they have quit carrying sneakers in half sizes. Excuse me, but a 9 is too big, and an 8 is too small...

They have also re-arranged their shoes. No longer are shoes separated in sizes. Womens size 6 to 8 this aisle, Womens size 9 to 11 this aisle. All the dress shoes are together, all the sneakers are together..... I keep waiting for the day that they'll put all the blue shoes on this aisle, the red ones here, the pink ones over there......

Yes--regrettable. Long lines, poor service, horrible shopping carts, always out of stock, BUT cheap prices.

Who cares about long lines and poor service..

You go in there to buy the merchandise not the experience of shopping there.

I don't really have a problem with Wal-Mart. My family doesn't shop there often, but we choose it over K-Mart. My mom works for GE Lighting, and k-mart doesn't stock their stuff so my mom's against them. XD Wal-Mart isn't my favourite place to shop, but it serves its purpose.

Just because you're there to buy their merchandise does not mean you can not have a good experience... That's like going to a restaurant and not giving a care about the service just because you're there for the food... If I experience poor service, I do not go back... Unless their wings are extremely inexpensive. Same thing goes for Wal-Mart, their prices are unbeatable, but their service is horrible. Kroger, much smaller store, has twice the amount of cashiers than Wal-Mart does.

That's because Wal-mart doesn't want to hire more help because it costs money that they don't want to pay.

I happen to work at one so yeah I shop at Wal-mart as a result.

I used to work at one. Worst job ever. I dont see how anyone who isn't the store manager could live a comfortable life, buy a house, etc.. I know when I was working there I could barely survive.

Now I make double what I made there and its still hard.

If you want to spend more money for the same exact stuff, then thats your preference. I dont go to any store and expect to be helped by anyone and wont throw a hissy fit if someone is rude. Ive worked at a Wal Mart before. I know how much of a hectic job it is.

Long lines arent that bad.. Go grab a magazine off the rack and read it while you wait. Thats what I do.

Since I've worked my fair share of minimum wage jobs, I tend not to get very angry at what other people view as poor service from fast food places and stores. Honestly, it's better that people shop somewhere else if shopping at wal-mart makes them irritable because it ruins the cashiers day when you act that way more than it ruins yours.

Anyway, I don't get to go to wal-mart often. There's none in my area. Like I said before, I live in the middle of nowhere, but I shop there whenever I'm anywhere near one and need something.

Wal-Mart is horrible....they underpay their workers....poor health care options...

My wife used to work for them and let me say they were horrible....

Watch that movie about Wal-Mart.....its all true!!!!!

I refuse to shop there!

Who said anything about throwing a hissy fit? I'm only complaining for the mattter of this topic.

Just because you're there to shop doesn't mean you should be treated like crap and have a horrible shopping experience for their low and unbeatable prices. We go to Wal-Mart weekly, but it is unfair to have hundreds of people being checked out with only 6 or 7 cashiers. It is hard on cashiers and the customers. Wal-Mart is the number one retailer in sales, so it wouldn't hurt to get a couple extra cashiers to make it easier on themselves and their customers. If I have nothing to do that night and can stand in line for about half an hour or up to an hour, then I do not care about the lines, lines happen, that's life. But if I have plans that day, it messes them up.

Then don't go to wal-mart when you have plans. Honestly, the lines are never THAT long that they should be ruining your plans. Also, a little patience goes a long way. Customers are never, ever even slightly patient and they have no reason to behave that way. Waiting a little while isn't the end of the world, nor should you expect wal-mart and all their workers to revolve their lives around you so much that they help you as soon as you are ready to purchase something. Impatience and needing everything RIGHT NOW is actually a childish way to behave. An adult will be able to wait for a little while.

And hiring more cashiers and keeping the prices low are a literal impossibility. The amount of money you pay for an item also goes to pay those same cashiers that are waiting on you. If you hire more cashiers, you HAVE TO make the price higher so you can pay those new cashiers. The money to pay them doesn't come out of thin air. The company must provide it for them and if they're selling you stuff for cheap, they have less profit to use to pay those people with, so they either have to lower the wages (which they can't do anymore, they are making minimum wage) or hire less workers.

I think having 6 or 7 cashiers out ready to check you out is a lot.

I love walmart. You can go to one store and find everything you need.
