Have you heard of it or ever tried it? It's just like the name implies, water in a cardboard carton/box instead of a bottle.

I've seen it in my local supermarket, but I've never personally tried it myself. It's better for the earth. (or so they say)

Is the box lined in plastic or coated in something, like a juice box is?

I've never got the whole buying water in bottles or boxes thing I have taps that work just fine If I need to take water out somewhere I have no issue refilling a used bottle with tap water.
Granted the cardboard part is better for the environment than plastic bottles (not sure how much plastic is in the cap section and whether it's lined with easily recycled materials) but you still need the same amount of energy to package, transport and distribute it.

The tap water here is unsafe to drink, for the most part. :|

Well, it'd probably come in a milk-like carton, so that'd work, I guess. I am not averse to using cardboard over plastic, especially if it would cut down on the waste we produce as human beings each year.
