What are some of your retirement plans?

We've always wanted to own a lake house, and we're finally thinking that when my husband retires we should just buy one. It will be our final home...at least that's the plan.

We look forward to spending more time hiking the trails and enjoying stupid things like working puzzles :D

I’m already able to move around and do what I want, so I don’t really need to wait until retirement. I don’t have a traditional job anyway. I’ll probably stay where I am as I get older. I’ve thought about selling and moving elsewhere, but financially it wouldn’t make sense right now since I’d lose too much.
Instead, I’m planning to travel more, especially to spend time in the country I’m originally from. I also hope to visit a few other places I’ve been wanting to see. I haven’t been able to do much of that yet because of some big challenges I’m facing in life, nothing I want to go into detail about.
So, when I’m older, it’ll mostly involve travelling more and enjoying the outdoors while I still can, as long as my feet keep moving.:p

Retirement? That’s crazy talk! I’m sure the retirement age will be unreachable by the time I’m old and gray.

Already retired.

Honestly, I am uncertain. On one hand, I have a strong desire to focus on developing an online community and expanding my websites, but on the other hand, I question how effectively my 70-year-old self will be able to stay updated with the latest gaming and technology trends.

I think it's down to "if I can retire". With how things are going with the us economy, some people have had to come out of retirement due to inflation and the rising cost of living.

Basically this. With retirement at the age it is now, I'd have about 25 more years. However, with the way things are going in this country I think I'll be one of those 90+ year olds having to work just to keep my head above water. Maybe someone will take pity on me and start a Go Fund Me.

We started off in our 20s putting money into investments. I was the one who balked about it, but I was wrong and now am happy that my husband did those because it earned us a lot of money over time. We aren't rich, but we aren't scared to retire.

If you can put away any amount of money, do so! Whether it's mutual funds or bonds or adding more to a 401k, just do it. It will hurt at first but you need to consistently add to your investments.
