One of the obvious animals would be a dolphin since theyre one of the smartest in the ocean. Could you imagine if all dolphins could shit talk? lol.

Crows are remarkably smart and can solve puzzles, even going as far as to dropping nuts in front of traffic lights so the cars would break them open and then they could sweep in and eat safely once the light changes.

I imagine they'd be quite philosophical.

Pigs are intelligent so that is a dead give-away.. but that aside..

Cats.

I say this because my cat gave me as much sass and I gave her and she was very intelligent.

I would close a door to keep her out of a room and she would open it herself. No matter what I did she got in.

She also left Earth today.. she told me that she wanted to be the first cat in space so she can get that big ball of yarn she always saw at night.

I gave her my blessing and thanked her for blessing us for 14 years (98 in hers) and she took off.

It was pretty cool to have her be as obsessed with space and as freaked out by centipedes as I am.. she really wasn't much of a huntress and like myself, she also waited for my husband to smite the centipedes. She was also born in the same month I was. Then again, I did name her after the Moon itself, so I guess it came full circle.

I miss her.

Elephants 'cause they remember everything.
And honeybadgers' 'cause those creatures don't give a rip whatso-freaking-ever...

Thank you.

I forgot to mention that the other reason I say cats, is because they domesticated themselves.. and trained US.. so the saying "dogs have owners, cats have staff" is accurate.

That said, honeybadgers are simply the apex of the asshole animal kingdom.

My dude CasualGeographic said it best.

Copperheads are right alongside them 'cause they don't give a rip either.

Chimps probably.

Like roaches? They all come to our houses to listen to us.
And they are virtually indestructible; which must count for something in the 'food chain'.

There are quite a few animals with high intelligence, even if they can’t talk to us. I think that interaction with any animal helps them to learn more, just like it helps with a child.
When I first got Marco Poodle, he didn’t know what his name was, or even that dogs had names. While I was trying to decode what to name him, I just called him “Poodle”.
Pretty soon, I realized that he perked his head up when he heard the Poodle word, so then I didn’t want to change his name since he had already figured out that Poodle meant him.

He stayed as Poodle for several years, but one of the things he likes is to escape out the front gate and adventure around the neighborhood (which is not safe for him to do). Since he was obviously and explorer, I amended his name to Marco Poodle.

Now, he knows all sorts of words, understands the UPS guy might be bringing his dog food, and wants to inspect all Amazon packages to see if they are for him.
