(Reddit) Why Do We Still Ban Books?
*scratches head in thought* Why do we still ban books?

It seems, as a parent of 3 school-aged kids, that it is hard enough to get them to read. Shouldn't we be encouraging literacy, despite content? I've read some banned books lists, and I don't really understand what the issue is with most of them.
Why are we still banning books in the age of the internet, it's not like the kids can't get online and read whatever they want anyway. I don't get it. I'm mostly venting but explanations would be most welcome. Thanks! (Reddit user Acosadora)
