Well hear about shows that we just have to watch! ...according to other people and the internets anyway.

What TV show did you try to watch but gave up on?

Touch. When I saw the pilot episode back in 2012, I found it... almost interesting. But then, after 2 more episodes, I gave up.

An easy rule of thumb: the more a movie or show is advertised and "pushed", the "lousier" it is.

Witness the Disney update of the Lone Ranger lost $190,000,000 in spite of their best efforts to make people who remember the TV series go see it. Yes, that was one hundred ninety million dollars down the tubes.

'Sons of Anarchy' would be one of mine. I know it's possibly a good show but there's a lot to catch up on and it no episodes i've seen have screamed out "I'm great, watch all my episodes!" (figuratively speaking).

I suppose I could say the same for Boardwalk Empire

Supernatural, but then all of the sudden they stopped airing it in my country.

So now I'm collecting the whole series on DVD.

So you didn't really give up on the series then?

Nope,until now I got 5 seasons....the rest is coming.

Another example of the facts not getting in the way of some good media hype is Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac.

To see the news stories, this is "Deep Throat" and "Last Tango" all in one.

They must have missed this part:

In 2013, producer Louise Vesth told The Hollywood Reporter: "We shot the actors pretending to have sex and then had the body doubles, who really did have sex, and in post [production] we will digital-impose the two. So above the waist it will be the star and then below the waist it will be the doubles."

Mad Men. I watched one episode and half of one episode and I just couldn't stand it.

Downtown Abbey, aswell as most period dramas

I'm way behind on tv shows, like just started watching Dexter - I understand the hype. Breaking Bad is another one that people keep going on about, I'm yet to see it.

I tried watching Dexter, just could not get into it. Tried more than once. Shit's wack.

Great show there! You probably will be hooked after the first couple episodes.
