Your Volume Level?

Assuming only "old people" dislike booming music and vibrating walls at all hours of the day. Things like that can only be tolerated to a point. :P

In my experience young people are much more tolerant of noise, whether it's music or having people over.

But our definitions of old probably differ a lot. Anyone over 25 is basically old to me.

Yeah, I'd say we have differing definitions of "old" if you think of (for example) a 26-year-old as an old man. :P

Past a certain age it seems to me people have so many responsibilities and forget how to have fun. To me, then you are old. You can call it "mature" if you want to. Idc, in that case I prefer staying immature.

Do you like your music loud or quite?
I prefer to listen to music at a relatively decent volume. Not too loud, but loud enough to feel the energy that it transmits.

Do you use your headphones or speakers more?
Mostly speakers.

Nebulous said:
Has your music ever disturbed anyone before?
Yeah, probably, but nothing significant enough to mention.

Have you ever had a music blasting neighbor?
No. I have had trouble with neighbours, but not about the volume of music.

Oh? We have a thread for that! http://offtopix.com/showthread.php?tid=23670 :P

I like it a bit loud, most of the music I listen to is pretty heavy on the bass (I'm 35 :P ). I can get away with it better than most, since my place is at the end of the apartment building.

Of course, as I do have shoes, and fishing poles, not to mention tools, older than the "over 25 is old" poster, I do have a certain affinity for stuff like this.

But for some reason, I don't think it's just the music:

I use my iPad for pretty much everything when it comes to music. I sometimes use headphones but only when I'm recording music or when it's late at night and people are sleeping.

If I use headphones, I have the volume level anywhere around a little below halfway to a little above half-way, just depending on what song I'm listening to and what I'm doing.

I have an iHome speaker, but I don't use it much. Volume level depends on what I'm doing.

Any other time, when I don't have headphones or speakers, I usually have the volume almost all the way up, but not completely.

Overall, it just depends on what I'm doing and how loud the music itself is.

Fairly loud. Too loud loses a lot of the mid tones. It's about 50/50 for speakers/headphones. Detached house so no problems with neighbours :D
