Zetaboards

Hehe...I work at one.

Only forums I know inside and out.

They are ok to be a member on but I would never want to own one.

On those self hosted softwares you can move from host to host at your leisure. You can convert your board to a different software at any time. With ZB you are trapped there. If they go under, your board goes under.

Hehe yeah, I see your point. I don't really own boards anyway...I'm fine being staff or member at one, though.

Lol some call me Outcast cause im outcast from everyone cause im too good for them

I'm perfectly fine being a member of one, but I would never own one.

I owned one myself( used to be on Invisionfree till we converted) and I been happy with it. I honestly don't care enough about having that sort of control over a forum that you would have with a self hosted forum since I rather not pay money to own a forum. The only thing I pay for is the domain I use.

I used to run a spreebb board back in the day and it oddly enough died out a few months before spreebb itself died out. That board was up for a couple of years as I started it just when spreebb was starting out. It was an IPB 1.3 modified host and it had a lot of features that IF never had like mass pm and a functional skin changer.

I loved Invisionfree. Didn't like Zetaboards at all. Never got on with the layout of it. Suppose I had just gotten used to Invisionfree.

This. The IF to ZB conversion killed my favourite forum

I don't mind being a member of a ZB forum, but no way on God's green earth would I try owning one again. I was on Zetaboards for a brief period, and I swear it was like being on Forumotion all over again!

I would send out PMs, and people who had the notify feature on would complain to me that they never got the notification that they had recieved the PM... loads of broken links... the Forgot My Password feature didn't work... I honestly would not go back to ZB as a forum owner in a hurry. As a member I wouldn't mind, though.

I used it for a brief time and miraculously as opposed to my previously run with the software I was able to mold the site appearance into my own look. I kinda like it but in some ways I prefer Invisionfree.

OMG! I love zetaboards! my favorite forum software ever! I absolutley love it, it's so customizable and it just works for me. In fact I had went from zetaboards to phpbb, I hated phpbb and went back to zeta.

I like being a member, because they look nice and seem fairly simple, but I wouldn't own one.

My forum is run on it. It's a fairly nice interface. Easy to get used to, and easy to theme.
