No doubt about it, you're a total red blooded American. Or at least you talk like one.

You probably learned your English in the good ole USA, and no one would dare mistake you for a Brit.

As far as you're concerned, "lift" is a verb. And you're not even sure what "bullocks" means.

And I'm not an American. Recently, a foreigner from France who speaks with a noticeable Russian accent, but is actually a Romanian by birth (weird, huh? ) told me that I have an American accent when speaking English, and thought that I actually lived there for awhile, even though I've never been to US.

I blame American movies.

This is very spot on. Being a military brat, I have lived in many states. The longest stay was in Mississippi. It was there that I picked up my southern accent and still have it. It's funny because I now live in the North and get teased a lot about having a southern accent.
