Are you currently happy with your job?
Does it pay you enough?
Is there room for advancement / promotions?
Will you retire from this job or seek another one eventually?
Yes, I am mostly happy with my job. There are things I dislike about it, but when is that not the case?
No, it does not pay enough for everything I'm expected to do.
Yes, there is room for advancement.
Hell no, I will not retire from this company. I would like to have more job protections, like with a union, so I'm eyeing a different healthcare group.
Are you currently happy with your job? I'm alright. I have worked at it for eight-years. The first two years, I work in a certain department. Thereafter, I spend six years doing something entirely different. The last couple months, I've started a new position doing something else. Thus, for that reason, it has freshened up for me a little bit. If you would've asked me about six months ago, you would've gotten a different answer.
Does it pay you enough? I have enough to cover my bills. I am not living paycheck to paycheck. I could afford to take six months off at any moment and I wouldn't lose my house or have to change my lifestyle (I would, however, lose my savings). Point is, it has allowed me to build a decent nest-egg. Could it be more? Yes, of course. However, there are also things I could better take advantage of to bring more change in my pocket that I am not.
Is there room for advancement / promotions? As prefaced, I went to a new position - slightly more prestigious. After that, the last place to go is up to a managerial role, which I could, if I may someday in a couple years.
Will you retire from this job or seek another one eventually? I will likely eventually try something new if I become burned out again. For now though, it works with my wife and I's schedule, I'm good at it, and I'm comfortable.
Retail. What do you do for a living (if you don't mind me asking)?
I move shelves around and reorganize things. When you go to a store and you're mad because you can't find something, that's me.
Retail. It isn't as bad as it sounds (but it's pretty close), haha. I work nights and the store is closed, so there's that. I've went through phases of being a Deli worker and a stockperson, now I'm at a phase where I move shelves around and reorganize things. When you go to a store and you're mad because you can't find something, that's me. It's one of the more "prestigious" jobs where I work, and my other two coworkers in it have been there for thirty years compared to me, haha.
I do other small side jobs, like editing manuscripts and web design, but those are more side hustles than anything else.
I love it, since I made the switch. I was working in a hardware store in the yard preparing wood order for construction worker, but now I'm the construction worker, working as a carpenter and i absolutly LOVE it. The pay is good and the work is very fun, better if you have a nice crew.
