You are granting us a non-exclusive, permanent, irrevocable, unlimited license to use, publish, or re-publish your Content in connection with the Service. You retain copyright over the Content.

Log files are maintained and analyzed for all file requests on this website's web servers. Log files do not capture personal information but do capture the user's IP address, which is automatically recognized by our web servers.

Our Commitment to Children's Privacy

Protecting the privacy of the very young is significant. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13, Our website is for people over 18.

Cookies

This website does not store any information that would, on its own, allow us to identify individual users of this service without their permission. Any cookies this website may use are used solely on a per-session basis or to maintain user preferences. Cookies are not shared with any third parties.

Personal information

All personal information we collect is kept securely and is not shared, sold, or otherwise passed on to any person or company outside of Off Topix management. We only collect personal information that you willfully supply. We only ask you for the information we require to process your request. Once this information has been used, it will be deleted. This site has security measures to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. We ask you to provide a name and email address when contacting us; this information is essential for our reply. We do not keep personal information collected in this manner, once used it is deleted.

Query logging

Off Topix does not monitor, view, share, store or in any other way make available queries you may enter into forms on our website unless it is needed explicitly for the service in question (e.g. contact forms). Search queries you may run are not logged or stored by us; however, third-party search services such as Google may log such queries.

Public forums

Users are reminded that some sections of our forums are viewable by the public and as such we warn you to be careful when posting personal information on them and advise against it.

Community forums

The forum on our server is powered by Xenforo, a software platform created by XenForo Ltd. The passage hereunder describes how information is collected and stored with the XenForo software.

Your account will at a bare minimum contain a uniquely identifiable name, a personal password used for logging into your account and a personal, valid e-mail address. Your information for your account on forums is protected by data-protection laws applicable in the country that hosts us (USA). Any information beyond your username, password, and e-mail required by the forums during the registration process is at our discretion, including what is mandatory and what is optional. In all cases, you can choose what information in your account is publicly displayed. You can always view any personal information you have provided from your account by selecting the Settings or User CP menu option on our forums. Also, at any time, you can request the removal of any of this information and your account from our system. Furthermore, you can opt in or out of automatically generated e-mails from the forum software within your account.

Your password is ciphered so that it is secure, as your password is the means of accessing your account on our forums; please keep it safe. Under no circumstance will anyone affiliated with Off Topix, XenForo, or another 3rd party legitimately ask you for your password. If you forget your account password, you can use the forgotten password feature provided by the forum software. This process will ask you to submit your username and the registered email address; then, the forum software will generate a new password to reclaim your account. If, for whatever reason, you are unable to access your email, you can request a new password to be set manually upon presentation of proof of your ownership of the account in question.

Private messages will remain private, Off Topix will never monitor, view, share or in any other way access messages sent between you and any other user unless expressly asked to do so. We will only view private messages when given written permission from you and only if we believe there is a near or immediate risk to the safety of our users and their data. In such cases, you will be informed of any progress made.

External links

Off Topix is in no way responsible for the content, security, or privacy policy of websites outside the Off Topix website. You will be subject to the site's privacy policy once you leave the Off Topix website.

Policy changes

Off Topix reserves the right to revise and change this policy anytime. The up-to-date version will be available from offtopix.com.

The following is not allowed at Off Topix:

1. Content that infringes upon any rights (including, but not limited to, copyrights and trademarks);
2. Abusive, threatening, defamatory, racist, or obscene Content;
3. Viruses or any other harmful computer software;
4. False information or libel;
5. Spam, chain letters, or pyramid schemes;
6. Pay per click/affiliate program type links;
7. Terrorism;
8. Anyone under the age of 18;
9. Hacking materials or information (video game hacks are allowed, though);
10. Warez, Copyrighted Materials, Roms, CD-Keys, Cracks, Passwords, or Serial Numbers;
11. Huge signatures, signatures with obscene content, or overly distracting signatures;
12. Content that is invasive of privacy or impersonation of any person/entity;
13. Links to porn or posting pornographic videos or images;
    Note: We do have a Taboo Tavern / 18+ forum where nudity is allowed. This rule does not apply to that forum.
14. PM Advertising. Do not private message (private conversation) someone to advertise something (This includes asking/inviting someone to your website/forum, asking for post exchanges, or asking someone to be a staff member);
15. Status Advertising. Do not advertise in your profile posts;
16. Shoutbox Advertising. Do not advertise in the shoutbox;
17. Trolling. Trolling is someone who is here with malicious intent (starting arguments, antagonizing other people, insulting people, or being excessively negative).

*Note: The rules are subject to change at any time, and the staff reserves the right to use their best judgment in determining what shouldn't be allowed here, even if it isn't listed in the rules above.

Some sections have their own (stickied/pinned) rules/guidelines in addition to the above rules, so be sure to read those as well. Please don't post anything that is not allowed here, and remember to treat everyone respectfully.
