How old is too old for having kids in your opinion?

If you are a woman, would you ever consider getting pregnant & raising a child above the age of (lets say) 45?

I think 40 is the cutoff, personally. My mother was in her 40s when she had my sister and I, and she was a fantastic mother, but she was out of her depth when we were teens, lol.

I can't have kids, but even if I could, I'd want it to be within the next couple of years or never, at this stage.

I dont know. It should be something where you're not going to croak before the kid gets into middle or high school.

A lot of grandparents are stuck raising their children's children (its more common than you think) so whats the difference really. I'd say if you have at least 18 years of life left in you, then go ahead and raise a child.

I know many that leave their kids with their grandparents or other family members as daycare is super expensive now.
The cost of living is not going to get any better.

I think you should have kids when it is right for you. Nothing in life is sure.

I think women who reach their 40s are not suitable to have kids. Just imagine how old they are if their kids reach the adulthood stage.

I won't want to have kids anymore after I turn 30. That's because I really want to have the necessary strength required to raise them kids well till they get to adulthood.

40 would be the age for me. I've always planned to have kids in the 30-40 range. At least a couple. I'm 28, so I guess I'm creeping up on that time period of my life. :P

It’s different for everyone, and in a way, age doesn’t really matter as long as the person can properly care for a child. But the older you are, the harder it can be for many reasons.
And no, I’m not just talking about the biological window for women to have kids. Being an older parent means you have to consider what would happen if you were to get seriously ill or pass away while your child is still young. Of course, this can happen at any age, but the risk naturally increases as you get older.
Physically, your body isn’t the same, you get tired more easily, and parenting can be more exhausting. Plus, having children at an older age comes with a higher chance of the child being born with health issues, and this isn’t just related to the mother. The father’s age can also play a role, as older sperm may contribute to certain genetic risks.
In the end, it all depends on the person and their situation.

In my opinion, having kids is not only about the mother's age but also of the father’s. In my opinion, if you are above 40 years, then you are too old to have kids. Typically, when men get older, their sperm quality and quantity declines. Aside from that, old parents may not have the energy level to keep up with young children. That is not to say there are no old parents doing amazing jobs. Of course, I have seen quite a number of them but it's not just right to have kids at old age.

I'm 38 and I'm done having kids after the 2 I've raised. It's primarily my tolerance level and feeling how I've been there & done that. I just don't have it in me anymore. I'm at a point in my life where I just want to go home to peace, quiet, and relaxation. Kids can be a lot, especially for someone my age.

Sarah in the bible had her son Isaac when she was 90 years old. It was a rare thing to happen which is why they call it a miracle. It's not scientifically possible for a women to get pregnant at the age of 90 years now.

When I'm considering the time it's too old for me to have a kid, it's going to be from my late 50's upwards.
