One of these surfaces every decade or so.
They become insanely popular, ride their wave, and then recede into obscurity.

I think he's thick into drugs now. He finally snapped under all of that fame and pressure.

I think Taylor Swift has proven that she has more staying power than most. Justin Bieber and Brittney Spears are not good comparisons.
If it wasn't the publicity she managed to generate with the football player, I think she may have already peaked.

Biebs still has a pretty big following. He actually has more Twitter followers than Taylor Swift, for example. He still releases albums/singles regularly. It's not as nuts as it was fifteen years ago, but you can look at his Spotify streaming numbers and know he's still pretty dang popular.
I'd say a key difference between the two would be sex appeal. From the beginning, Britney was all about sex appeal. There's no way that formula can last. Taylor Swift had been far away from that up until these last 2-3 albums. Now she's definitely leaned into it a ton though, as one can clearly see with the cover of this newest album.
It's hard to believe she could be any bigger than she was last year. I'd say she has peaked, and it's a downward trajectory from here. Especially since she's getting married. I would assume she intends to settle down.

I really like The Fate of Ophelia. Catchy tune, good lyrics. I also like The Life of a Showgirl and Opalite. None of the other songs have really grabbed me.
I have been listening to the Taylor Swift channel on Sirius XM, and some of the songs have been played there. I'm not really feeling any of them as being WOW. The Life of a Showgirl could have really been amazing, but it came off as weak. There is one point where Sabrina gets into a higher register and then stops, and the power ended with it. Was Taylor afraid of being upstaged by someone with a more unique voice?
Most of the songs on the album sound the same. Same flow. Same energy. To me, it was putting me to sleep.
I really hoped for at least one good song to jam to, but it's a mellow album.

I really like Honey. I'd say it's my favorite. Opalite would probably be my #2.
It definitely feels like a swing and a miss for her with this album. I will always listen to her, but I don't see this album winning awards and such.
