    I think it's just window dressing really and could well lead to problems in the future. The new government is a complete joke as far as I can see and I doubt very much if it's going to last for too long.

    If you let a new moderator, staff member know that he/she is on a trial period from the outset, then they will know where they stand from the start. No need for putting 'trial' in their rank title. I always find that being open and honest with new staff members is the best policy.
