    Your Strangest Internet Encounter?

I had some guy internet stalk me for like a year or two because I committed the most heinous crime: I called him an idiot. I know, I know. I should be ashamed of this, but to make matters worse, I called him an idiot more than once. Anyway, serious talk. The guy was the admin of a game forum...

    Global warming: fact or myth?

The reason why people believe it to be a myth is because it’s an “abstract” concept for the average person. Since it’s a gradual thing as opposed to an instantaneous thing, it can cause doubt. Add onto that, the more heavily affected places are far away from them, makes it less tangible. For...

What would cause your mic to stop?

Is he doing the traditional hand to head phone call, or is he using some headset or his car? If it’s the former, does the audio just straight up cut out? It’s either damaged (aka new phone), or he has some app that’s messing with it. I’d have him took at the settings and look at anything...

Do all "real" pop ups on PCs have an identifying element?

Idk why a license number would show up. Not all pop ups are malware.

How would you feel about getting your own small children a smartphone?

It makes sense if both parents work and they need a way to contact their kid(s). To prevent children from being glued to their phones, parents could also practice this new fangled thing called parenting to prevent their kids from being addicted to smart phones. Things like setting time limits...

    Your internet footprint

My internet footprint would be boring too. Oh no, this guy listens to hipster music and watches anime, a scourge upon society.

    Wireless Charging for cell phone

You probably got the 10W wireless charger than a 20W. Makes a huge difference in charge times.

    Wireless Charging for cell phone

It’s closer to a sensor, but it falls under electromagnetics. The charger and the back of your phone are both magnets, and when the magnets connect, it creates a charge.

    Wireless Charging for cell phone

It’s less energy efficient, and if you get a 10W charger, it’ll take hours, but that’s rectified with a 20W charger. Other than that, the differences are negligible for either or. I have one next to my bed, and it’s nice to just plop it on there.

    Hate Speech

The problem with banning it, is that people have different opinions on what does and doesn’t count, and the pendulum swings in both directions. One day you agree with it, but then when the guard changes, now you’re on the receiving end

Phones that don't have security updates

There’s not really a lot of context clues in your OP. Outside of asking us if your phone gets security updates, you just tell us what phone you and your husband have, and how you guys aren’t getting updates and just stops there. So at that point, it’s like… okay… what kind of responses are you...

Phones that don't have security updates

If you worded it that way in the OP, I would be able to interpret the thread to mean that and gave a less snarky answer. Your OP comes off like you’re bragging about your phone not getting security updates in years as opposed to asking why Google stopped supporting it years ago. It reads like...

What do you think about the covid shots?

Most of the people complaining about 5G have no idea what they're talking about. Tieing it to Covid is like... wut? Or its real implementation is to control the microchips in the vaccines the goverment made everyone get. Some real tinfoil hat stuff there... From an RF standpoint, 5G isn't that...

What do you think about the covid shots?

Apparently the earliest report was in 1991, but claimants blew up in the mid 2000’s. So it’s between 20-30 years old at this point. I never heard of it until I met I met this married couple who’s into all those weird medical “conspiracies”. They’re kind of like walking stereotypes who somehow...

What do you think about the covid shots?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_hypersensitivity There’s a huge rabbit hole of nonsense involving people being either scared, or claiming to get sick from EMF. There’s a ton of “totally legit” blog articles that people cite as legit, and a cottage industry of scam artists selling...

What do you think about the covid shots?

They’ve disproved the EMF sensitivity thing in multiple types of blind tests. They’ve basically proven that people either are putting the blame on the wrong thing that’s causing the headaches (ie the headaches didn’t start until after you noticed the new cell tower), or it’s a nocebo. The latter...

Last time you loaded software onto your system using CD-Roms?

Their laptops don’t, but I’ve seen a decent bit of their desktops with CD drives still.

What do you think about the covid shots?

I thought the Covid shots were microchips from the government, and Covid was spread by 5G towers? This is usually from the same people who think vaccines cause autism, and EMF sensitivity is real and dangerous.

What to avoid when buying a new laptop?

Asus usually has a pretty good reputation with laptops, so you’ll be fine with those.

What to avoid when buying a new laptop?

Don’t get one that’s running Windows in S mode. It is a locked down version of Windows (you can only use apps from Microsoft’s app store). It’s very easy to turn off, but the computers that are in S mode also use the bare minimum specs to run Windows, which means it’ll get slow and outdated a...
