    They might love themselves to the point they believe they are perfect and hate it when people say otherwise. Or possibly they could be self conscious it find minor things hurtful, therefor they get offended.

    MyBB is very easy admin wise, the public area / private area can simply be done by having separate usergroups w/ little changes to forum permissions on the private section. By invite, do you mean the administrator(your wife) upgrading them into it? Would you want it hosted on a free house so...

    Indeed. Having "reputation" on a forum when you think about it sounds kinda strange. Makes me think of a gangster being like "Yeah, I got rep in this hood"

    I much prefer a likes system, it's seems a lot more friendly and is a system which people seem to use more often than the reputation systems.
