    I remember I joined a forum some time back and got snubbed. I posted my 'Introduction' thread to say hi to everyone and also posted in some other topics. Not one person, not even the Admin, replied to anything I'd posted. It was like I'd never joined - so I left.

    On some forums, it is frowned upon if you reply to a topic that hasn't been posted in for a while. The idea seems to be that once people stop posting in it, then the subject is 'done with'. Other forums don't mind it, because it's accepted that new members joining the forum could offer...
