    Windows 10?

It stops getting security updates in October 2025

    Boycotting Brands

I was being sarcastic. I can’t tell if my friends don’t actually know the meaning, are just saying it for show, or both.

    "Internet of Things"

It still sounds like you’re missing the point.

    "Internet of Things"

That’s not what internet of things means: https://www.oracle.com/internet-of-things/what-is-iot/

    Boycotting Brands

My wannabe activist peers don’t know what boycotting is. Apparently continuing to buy things from said company is considered boycotting.

    Technology - upgrades galore

Based on my cybersecurity certs and training, there is a point. Threats are ever evolving and not upgrading after it reaches end of life is essentially a ticking time bomb (unless you don’t connect it to the internet). Though if it’s a device that has no cybersecurity to worry about, it is...

How often do you do a hard shut down on your pc?

Actually power it off instead of restarting, or closing a laptop lid.

    Are you gizmo crazy?

I don't upgrade for the sake of upgrades, but due to my hobbies/interests, I have different needs than someone who just uses a computer just to browse the internet. I also work in IT, and end up with setups at home that the average person doesn't need. I also keep up with current operating...

What is your new normal life after the pandemic?

    This is basically me.

Are you afraid of the side effects of coronavirus vaccines?

Not really, the percentage of people with long term side effects is pretty small. So I wouldn't say someone's wiser than the higher percentage of people that didn't get side effects. I'm not telling you to go get the vaccine, but not getting it doesn't make you any wiser than someone who got it...

    Did Defund the Police backfire?

I’d call it a failure because nothing came out of the movement due to a disorganized and unclear message. They knew what their end goal was, but didn’t unite on how to get there.

Do you buy anime on disc?

I have to either take a picture and have the lighting to make sure it’s all legible, or type up a list. I also don’t have my collection memorized, so it’s more effort for something not a lot of people have interest in seeing.

Parents to blame for children's behavior?

    Depends on what it is
  14. Grungie

Do you lie to avoid confrontation?

It depends on how serious it is. If it’s minor, why start a fight?

Max amount you'll spend on a phone?

It’s your money, so if you enjoy what you have, then my opinion is irrelevant.

Who actually buys from spam threads?

What they’re actually doing is creating back links to increase search engine rankings as opposed to finding some poor sap who’s going to click on the link in a forum.

    HD, 4K, 8K - what’s next?

As long as they still work right?

When there is a difference in religion?

She wasn’t super hardcore, and I just didn’t care, so there weren’t any clashes for religious beliefs. Not like anything we did clashed with what the other was into. I can see it being a problem if one (or both) parties are really devout and have conflicting beliefs.

    Unanswered threads on your forum?

I read them, but if I fibd them uninteresting, I just ignore it. I personally can’t stand posting for the sake of posting. I also notice that posting for the sake of posting in those threads encourages the user more to post similar threads, as opposed to giving them the hint to post something...
