    Falling Asleep

How long does it normally take for you to fall asleep? Do you have any tips for falling alseep if you're lying awake all night? Thought of this topic because I had a hard time getting to sleep last night. It often takes me at least 15 minutes to fall asleep, but last night I was lying in bed...

    NBA Lockout Over

The lawsuits have been dropped, agreements have been reached and the union has been authorised to reform. The NBA lockout is over (although it's not official yet) and a 66 game season is set to start on Christmas day. I'm glad that I'll be able to follow the NBA again, and you have to bear in...

    Japan in December

After many months of eager anticipation, I'm finally going to Japan on December 3rd! My Japanese class was scheduled to go in April but the natural disasters that occurred shortly before meant we had to postpone the trip. I'm very excited, and I'll keep everyone updated in this thread with a...

    Government

Sometimes I wonder why we allow certain people to run countries. 1) Carbon tax. Because of Al Gore's famous global warming hoax, we get taxed. Bull. Shit. 2) Asylum seekers. This isn't a modern society or anything. Let's never meet our agreed asylum seeker intake quota and detain everyone...

    NBA Playoffs

There isn't a thread for this yet? Has anyone been following the NBA Playoffs? Dallas Mavericks vs Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals, Chicago Bulls vs Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals. Each series is tied 1-1.

    Employed

Well, last week I got a job working at a local supermarket, and I start my training tomorrow morning. I'll be doing shifts on the checkouts and in the dairy section, and I'm a little bit nervous about starting, but it should be fine. I'll let everyone know how it goes .

    I Know You...

Have you ever met someone who you swear you have seen/met before, but can't remember where? These past two or three weeks at school, my Japanese class has had a University student who has taken us for some lessons and been helping as part of her study for being a Japanese teacher, and she...

    Shakespeare

Discuss works by the famous Elizabethan playwright, William Shakespeare. I'm reading Macbeth at school, and since I'm quite enjoying it, I think I might read some more Shakespeare. Thing is, we're reading Macbeth in Modern English, which irritates me because the play just isn't the same...

    Rolled Ankle

Yesterday at basketball training I rolled my ankle, but since I was fine after a few minutes I didn't put ice on it when I got home. It didn't hurt too much, but it seems like a bizarre way to hurt yourself. How are your ankles? Have you ever hurt them playing sport?

    Ask an Australian about Australia

For those of you from other countries, ask any questions you have regarding Australia and an Australian will be sure to answer your question! (Hopefully)

    Photo Albums

Do you have photo albums? What photos are in there? Do you look at them often? I'm going through some photo albums right now, and the photos date back to the mid 80s. Interesting stuff .

    RIP Scratchy

On Tuesday, Scratchy died. I came home from school, and he looked terrible. There was no colour in his eyes, and he was cold. We took him to the vet, but he passed on the way there. He was quite old for a rat, however. RIP Scratchy: 15th March 2008 - 29th June 2010

    Computer Issues

Well, my computer is having some issues with the hard disk, so until that is repaired I won't be on here as much. It's a pain, because I had no idea what the problem was; the computer kept freezing and restarting itself during the Windows loading screen. Just at the end of school, as well!

    Workshop @ Hyogo Cultural Centre

Tomorrow I'm going to Hyogo Cultural Centre in Perth (http://www.hyogo.com.au/index.htm) for a workshop designed for Year 10 students of Japanese who plan on continuing their studies throughout Years 11 and 12. I'm not quite sure to expect for tomorrow, but I'm pretty excited, but rather...
