College football season officially kicks off on 30 August. America is ready for some football. Are you?
 
Sadly American football isn't very popular in my country, so the only time I can actually watch a game is the Superbowl. I'd love to get into it more though, as I really enjoy the videogames, and the sport on a whole is fun to watch.

...Nebraska QB Taylor Martinez, who carried his Cornhuskers on his back with 354 passing yards, including touchdown tosses of 26, 9, 29, 18, and 11 yards, in a 49-20 victory over Southern Mississippi.

...Michigan State RB Le'Veon Bell. He touched the pigskin 44 times for 210 yards and a pair of touchdowns, including the eventual game winner over Boise State.

...Michigan WR Jeremy Gallon. Though the Wolverines lost the big game in the Lone Star State to Alabama, he was the receiver of the week for the B1G this week with 4 receptions for 107 yards in a 41-14 defeat.

...Michigan State QB Andrew Maxwell, who had a big game against Central Michigan with 275 yards passing and two touchdown passes, 20 yards to Dion Sims and 7 yards to Bennie Fowler. The Spartans won 41-7.



...Michigan QB Denard Robinson. The fusion of Tim Tebow and Barry Sanders cued up the highlight reel with 208 rushing yards, touchdown runs from 79 and 58 yards out, and 218 passing yards, including touchdown throws to Devin Funchess from 30 yards and to Devin Gardner from 7 yards. Without him, the Wolverines would've fell to 0-2 for the first time in the Brady Hoke-era.



...Nebraska WR Kenny Bell. The sophomore from Boulder, CO, recorded 6 receptions for 108 yards in a 36-30 loss to the UCLA Bruins.

Would be even surprised if Penn State loses all of its games this season. At least I would like to see their first actual win since 1997 against the Midshipmen of the US Naval Academy.

...Nebraska RB Ameer Abdullah. The 5'9, 185 lb. Sophomore from Homewood, AL, ran 167 yards on 30 carries and 2 touchdowns in the Cornhuskers 42-13 victory over Arkansas State.



...Ohio State WR Devin Smith. The homestate Sophomore from the city of Massilon made 5 receptions for 172 yards as well as a game-winning touchdown reception of 72 yards with 3:26 left in the game to give the Buckeyes a win over upset-starving Cal.

...Michigan State RB Le'Veon Bell. Though the fiesty Eastern Michigan Eagle team gave all that they got, the senior for Sparty carried the ball 36 times for 253 yards and a touchdown to ice a 23-7 victory.



...Michigan State TE Dion Sims. A junior from Detroit, MI, Sims caught the ball six times for 112 yards and a touchdown in a victory over Eastern Michigan.

...Northwestern Wildcats QB Trevor Siemien. The sophomore from Windermere, FL, opened the Big Ten campaign of 2012 with 22 passes complete out of 38 attempts, for 308 yards with 1 interception thrown. His Wildcats defeated the Indiana Hoosiers 44-29.



...Iowa Hawkeyes fullback Mark Weisman. Packing 225 lbs. plus his own shoulder pads, the sophomore from the state of Illinois carried the ball 21 times for 177 yards, plus 12 yards receiving to record 189 yards total offense in a Big Ten opening victory over the Minnesota Golden Gophers 31-13.



...Wisconsin Badgers WR Jared Abbrederis. The junior made seven receptions for 142 yards and six points, despite his team's defensive meltdown for wasting a 27-10 lead and losing the game 30-27 to the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

...Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Cameron Coffman. The sophomore Missouri native recorded 282 passing yards and 3 passing touchdowns, but the Hoosiers couldn't close out the game against Michigan State, losing 31-27.



...Michigan Wolverines quarterback Denard Robinson. The senior recorded 340 yards of total offense, 105 of which in the air including a touchdown pass, and 235 yards rushing on 24 carries. The Maize 'n Blue defeated the Purdue Boilermakers 44-13.



...Michigan State Spartans wide receiver Aaron Burbridge. The freshman from Farmington Hills, Michigan, recorded 134 yards on eight receptions in State's heralded 17-point comeback to destroy Indiana, 31-27.
