No one learned from Reagan's success.

America has lost 1 million corporations since their height during the Reagan era, in part driven out of business by the industrialized world’s highest corporate tax rate, according to a new report from the nonpartisan Tax Foundation.

The just-issued research revealed that the number of traditional “C” corporations has fall to a “historically low level” and wiped out the corporate tax base, resulting in the federal government relying much more on individual income taxes to fund its operation.

“There is now more net business income taxed under the individual income tax system than the traditional corporate tax code, a trend that does not appear to be stopping any time soon,” said the report provided to Secrets.

It said that corporate closings have recently picked up steam and now 60,000 a year are shut down.

A driver in the loss of traditional corporations has been the ever-rising corporate tax rate, an issue Washington has been ducking for years.

The Tax Foundation said that many corporate titans have taken matters into their own hands by restructuring as “pass through” operations which allows profits to be taxed at lower individual rates.

yeah, because it's all because of the taxes, riiiiight...

far right extremists propaganda and fallacy at it's best...

no, the economy is the major reason why business owners shut their businesses...

taxes and regulations is probably the 2nd or 3rd reason why businesses close down...

Which taxes and regulations play a leading role in how the economy will be.

it may be a role but not the leading role...

the economy can be dictated and destroyed regardless what the taxes and regulations are...

just look at wall street and banks...

But it is the leading role. It is the leading role for what companies charge, how they expand, If they are going to lay off workers or higher more workers, or simply shut down a branch if they have multiple areas in the states, or simply shut the doors all together. It is the top dog on what happens to a company and why they try so hard to make buddies with the politicians.

you're trying to blame taxes and regulations on businesses that fail due to other reasons such as, for an example, internal reasons with-in a business that makes the business fail... a lot of businesses close because no other reason except for they just simply fail on their own...

Oh I am sure some in that list made bad business decisions that closed them down. Lets put that 20% of the 60,000 every year shutting down and we can still put the blame on regulations and taxes.

haha, but you're still guessing and assuming... ;)

I would say not. Since the decline began the moment Reagan left office and taxes and regulations went back up. I may not know the amount is from bad management but it can easily say it is not the main problem of what is happening to Americas businesses.

and guessing / assuming it's all taxing and regulating's fault is laughable...

Again no. Every time regulations and taxes go down business does better. Every time. Presidents dismissed that and we have had nothing but more taxes and hundreds of thousands of pages of regulations since then. The ones that got in bed with government did great the million others not so much.

most regulations are to keep crooks from being a business and scamming people...

a lot of businesses close down every year due to fraud, scams, owners being jailed, etc. etc.

all would have nothing to do with taxes...

You do not need half a million pages of regulations to keep a business from doing the right thing. That many regulations is to have absolute control. With that many rules in place everyone at one time is breaking a law and government can use that against you when they need to. Power, power, power is what at this point in time is what it is all about.

i agree, but your tax and regulations are making 60,000 businesses to close theory is just that, a theory that has no substance to it...

Not so much the taxes.....More because of the economy.....When the economy falls, businesses close... We've had two major shutdowns here in our little town....These shutdowns have caused major unemployment...One shut down, during the last Stock Market drop, when all kinds of businesses ended up shutting their doors.....The other shut down last year, just before Christmas......There was just no more growth in the business, which supplied shelving to stores, etc.....

And economies go bad and most businesses close because of government policies because of regulations and taxes. Nothing else destroys economies more.
