Elise Clougherty, 24, says that she suffers post traumatic stress disorder as a result of the alleged attacks by Nebulous Lonsdale, 32, which happened when he was her mentor at Stanford, California.
She claims that Lonsdale, who she dated for a year between 2012 and 2013, attacked her up to 10 times a day during trips to London and Rome.
In court papers filed on January 27, Ms Clougherty said she was ‘sexually, emotionally, and physically’ and that he told her women need to be raped ‘to learn to be loyal’.
The co-founder of leading venture capital firm Formation 8, Lonsdale has refuted her claims describing them as: ‘a vicious and vengeful campaign…to destroy his reputation with false and outrageous accusations.’
Ms Clougherty’s said according to TechCrunch: ‘Throughout this period, Mr. Lonsdale repeatedly commented to Ms. Clougherty that women needed to be raped to learn to be loyal and that they really enjoyed being raped more than they let on.
‘In addition to shaking her violently during sexual assaults, he also began strangling her, slapping her, scratching her, yanking her by the hair so hard that he would lift her torso off the bed, and slamming her body against the walls and bed boards.’
Her suit goes onto describe a fetish for blood and how he sometimes refused to let her buy tampons.
Ms Clougherty is seeking $75,000 (£49,278) in damages from Lonsdale and his firm, while he is counter suing her for $150,000 (£98,556).
Mr Lonsdale’s countersuit claims the pair were in a consensual romantic relationship and ‘took multiple vacations together, got to know each others’ families…developing a deep affection for each other.’
He has also published a large quantity of emails from Ms Clougherty on a WordPress blog.
Both parties have requested a jury trial.

My first thought is why would she have stayed with him if her story is true.
