Do you think teenagers have a right to privacy or should their lives be an open book to their parents/family?

Not OPEN book, but there should be SOME kind of control and moderation on part by the parents and parents alone.

Just to make sure they're studying, keeping out of trouble.

Like, ONLY the bare minimum of what seems to be needed.

EVERYONE should have a right to privacy.

Being a teen I LOVE my privacy and I think it's important that we get to choose what we share with our parents.

I am iffy on this one. Considering i was a horrible teen.. i think that teens should have some moderation. because no parent should have too deal with a druggy teen or a teen who is never home etc.. so I just think there should be moderation at least a little

That depends. If it's too much privacy then it's obvious he's/she's hiding something but if it's too little he/she might feel kinda... violated. Balance is good

Thankfully, I have a decent amount of privacy, unlike some of my friends who have parents that read their journals, take their bedroom door off the hinges, read their text messages, etc.

You should be able to have a right to privacy, but not complete privacy.. balance is good.

Teens do have the right to privacy but then again there's things that the parents should know and to keep under control, moderation if you will like what Sayf Udeen said...

But, all-in-all, the parent is the parent and has the final word...

Correct.

At the end of the day a teenager is still a child and still needs a guardian.

Fact.

End.

Those kind of parents mean well but it all blows up in their face in the end. They have a rebellious kid who wants to break free of the over-protectiveness and end up being more crazy and wild than those who have some more freedom's.
