First person to get fired from TNA, WWE, and AEW? :(

Tony Khan just killed Chicago for both AEW and ROH.
Great move by Jacksonville Dixie.

For all the times, @Daltonio and @PGen98, that I've ever slagged Dixie Carter, Tony Khan (a/k/a Jacksonville Dixie) is starting to make me rethink everything I've ever said about her....

(Cageside Seats)
Earlier today, AEW officially terminated CM Punk’s contract with the promotion, following an investigation into a backstage fight with Jack Perry at All In last weekend.

Tonight’s (Sept. 2) episode of Collision opened with AEW President Tony Khan addressing the situation: “Today I had to make one of the toughest decisions of my professional career. Today I terminated Phil Brooks, CM Punk, for cause. This stems from a backstage incident at AEW All In last Sunday. The incident was regrettable, and it endangered people backstage. That includes the production staff, the people who help put the show on every week, innocent people who had nothing to do with it.

I’ve been going to wrestling shows for over 30 years. I’ve been producing them on this network for nearly four years. Never in all that time have I ever felt, until last Sunday, that my security, my safety, my life, was in danger at a wrestling show. I don’t think anybody should feel that way at work. I don’t think the people I work with should feel that way, and I had to make a very difficult choice today. It came at the recommendation of a discipline committee here in AEW, as well as outside legal counsel, who delivered a unanimous recommendation, and I have followed up on that recommendation. I’m sorry to any fans who are upset by this.”

Despite this unfortunate news, Khan goes on to declare this is the greatest week in AEW history, and tomorrow night’s All Out pay-per-view will be a great show.

As expected, Jim Cornette has a take on it...

All Evicted Wasting
All Puddin Gang Wrestling

I mean, I'm starting to wonder if the same jackass virus that once killed WCW and nearly killed Impact (then-TNA) back last decade hasn't infected AEW...firing CM Punk less than a week before All Out, which is going to be in Chicago - a/k/a CM Punk's hometown, has to rank up there with the greatest dumbass decisions of wrestling. Even given the circumstances of how Punk got fired, dropping the guy whose' hometown is hosting your next PPV is eternally stupid. As I said earlier, Jacksonville Dixie just killed the Chicagoland market for both AEW and ROH (since AEW owns ROH).....

*continues* I'm not a betting man, but I think when Tony Khan was born, both his parents slapped the stork that delivered him.

@PGen98, as much as Jim Cornette and Vince Russo despise each other, CM Punk's departure from AEW might actually be one of the few times they've come close to agreeing about something... :o

Eww, that's not something I want to hear. Those two should never be on the same page!
You know what the commonality is, though?
Its' how they feel about Tony Khan - they both freaking agree about him being naive.
