Alien: Romulus (2024)

I want to be excited. I loved the original Alien movies (yes, even Resurrection

) but have been underwhelmed with the prequels.

Dawn.

August 16th, brother.
I used to read the graphic novels and this movie kind of reminds me of one of the old books that I read long...long ago where a Weyland Yutani company member snuck a batch of Xenomorph eggs onboard in order to get them past quarantine. But this fails and several of the crew members get infected when they checked the cargo. You can imagine what follows next.

I went to see it this afternoon. Nice to see this franchise make a comeback after two subpar prequels.

Some nice touches in this movie. I liked that the computers on the ship matched the tech from the original movie. It was also cool seeing Ash (Rook) back. I would also like to say that the hybrid at the end was absolutely horrific. Holy crap, that thing is going to give me nightmares. I thought the hybrid in Resurrection was creepy but this one takes the cake. I think it's the fact that is had a completely human face, as opposed to looking like a skull.

Loved it, great movie! The alien/human hybrid was especially creepy.
