Animal Factory

I came across a brochure that I found on my teacher table the other day at college and it was about animal factory..I never thought such a thing existed and what are your thoughts on this? Do you think they should be allowed to reproduce meat by torturing the animals and feed them a low quality food?



Just in case you don't know what an animal factory is..

Animal factories, also known as large confined animal feeding operations (CAFOs), go against traditional farming practices by treating the animal simply as a machine or production unit. These farms are more like an assembly line system of animal harvesting than anything resembling a genuine farm or ranch.

There is one on the way to my uncles house (he lives out in the country).. Its a bunch of chickens stuffed into cages. They can barely move and are barely fed, and what they DO feed them is very low quality stuff. I heard that it is cow manure and their own droppings mixed in with grain and other stuff... But that might be a rumor.

Anyways that's what gets packaged and sent off to local super markets.

I think they should be allowed to roam free range and at least have some what of a life before being slaughtered.

I don't like that sort of farming. The animals have a poor quality of life and deserve better, expecially since they are giving us produce that makes our life easier. I'm all for free range farms, better food and quality of life.
