Vegetarians and vegans of Off Topix: If animal rights conditions improved, would you start eating meat again?

I'm not a vegan or vegetarian...but wouldn't eating meat...for any reason defeat the purpose? I don't think it's about the rights or conditions but the eating of meat in general. Just my 2-cents. Don't ask me...I love meat. Steak is amazing. ;)

Most likely not as their problem lies with the fact that an animal is being killed for the purpose of consumption. They just tack on how the animal is being treated before being killed to further their cause but that's not the main sticking point. This is of course excluding those who are vegetarian for health reasons but they won't change either as better conditions don't change the nutritional value of the meat being consumed.

I agree w/ Bluezone777. Theres more involved than just the treatment of the animals.

Not a vegetarian either, but I think it comes down to the killing of the animal still occurs to provide food.

Maybe, a better question would be would they eat eggs or dairy products?
