What do you think about eating disorders such as Anorexia and Bulimia?

Have you or someone you've known struggled with these disorders? If so how did you/they overcome it?

I don't have Anorexia or the other thing, but I do have an appetite problem - In which I don't find most things tasty and so I don't eat as much.

I've known a few girls that told me they experienced bulimia and would purge themselves after eating.

Yeah, I've known a couple of people who dealt with it, but fortunately that's one area I have t personally suffered with

Bruh I'm reading up on Bullimia and it's just weird. I already knew about the other one since long ago, but Bullimia is new to me. How the heck does it even work

You eat or if you look in the mirror and if you think you're gaining weight, you go vomit a couple of times.

You eat.....and then you vomit it back up. Or you look in the mirror and if you think you're gaining weight, you go vomit.

I thought you just get depressed and regret it or whatever, so it's a physical phenomenon. Is this instance accurate: You eat two whole pizzas, and then afterwards you're like "nahh" and just vomit it all out?

Sure. It can be mental and physical. I think eating disorders sometimes originate with the parents who cause severe issues with a child. Calling a child fat all of the time can cause them to quit eating or start purging after they eat so they can maintain their figure. I've had at least 2 girlfriends that were formerly bulimic. One trick that people who suffer from anorexia will do is put the food in their mouth, to taste it, but will spit it out instead of swallowing it. Like chewing tobacco. While a Bulimic person will just walk off to the bathroom and sit in there for 30 minutes to an hour coughing up what they just ate.

Holy fuck. I thought the "disease" itself caused them to spit it all out, but this is like an "exercise" or something you actively do to push the food out. It's kinda weird that this even exists. Well how did your former partners get over it then?

Yeah, it's a mental illness.

They never wanted to talk about it past that point.
