I guess Marilyn Monroe, and several others, weren't enough for him.

She always called him “Mr. President” — not Jack. He refused to kiss her on the lips when they made love. But Mimi Alford, a White House intern from New Jersey, was smitten nonetheless.

She was in the midst of an 18-month affair with the most powerful man in the world, sharing not only John F. Kennedy’s bed but also some of his darkest and most intimate moments.

In her explosive new tell-all, “Once Upon a Secret: My Affair with President John F. Kennedy and Its Aftermath,” Alford, now a 69-year-old grandmother and retired New York City church administrator, sets the record straight in searingly candid detail. The book, out Wednesday was bought by The Post at a Manhattan bookstore.

But, JFK can't defend himself, how fair is that?

Fair enough, the man doesn't have to defend himself. Nothing is really going to happen to him after all...

She's lived with the secret a long time, and probably wanted to come clean before she joins him.

I've read more than my fair share of coverage of the gentleman, and just from that, I'll say that her account of what happened in the residence sounds authentic and within the normal range of behavior for him, and for that matter, both brothers as well as their father.

She does not appear to be embellishing at all.

Unless she has done her own share of research into him and his times and put the story together based on that. It is possible, but unlikely.

As to who cares.... for instance, who cares what anything named Kardashian has EVER done, but they are yammered about every night on the network news, and they weren't making decisions that could have blown the entire Earth into the middle of next week during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and then got us into the Vietnam War.

I posted it only as an historical note on the time known as Camelot in DC.

JFK's supposed mistress has nothing to do with those things either. It just sounds like gossip to me. What's worse is he can't defend himself on his own behalf.

The Kardashians are still alive, you don't expect the news to gossip about a person who has been dead.

I'm sorry, but I believe that character does matter, and a person who cheats on their spouse probably has other issues as well.

However, to Mr. J's point, a lot of those who seek out high office also look for satisfaction or perhaps validation outside as well.

It is a shame, but the two seem to go hand in hand all too often.

Excuse me? Sets what record straight?

My bet would be- her own.

And for reasons of her own.

And just an afterthought... I'm wondering if her kids should have a paternity test, although I don't know if any of them were born in the early sixties.

If it's true I feel sorry for her kids and her grandchildren. They will now know she was nothing but a whore and had no respect what-so-ever for marriage vows.

My guess is that she's flat broke and making up a fairy tale that never happened. Why else has it taken this long for her to want to set the record straight as she puts it.
