Fears of fresh flooding have been raised as another band of persistent rain and strong winds heads towards the UK.

The latest storm pushing in from the Atlantic will arrive in the West on Sunday evening, before spreading northeastwards overnight and potentially causing disruption on Monday morning.

The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning over fears of severe gales with gusts up to 80 mph affecting Wales, and southwestern and southern England.

Sky News weather producer Joanne Robinson said: "Rain will move in on a strengthening wind this evening and tonight.

"Heavy downpours in the West will bring a renewed risk of flooding, especially for Northern Ireland, south west Scotland, South Wales and south west England.

"There'll be gales, locally severe. The strongest winds look to affect the south and west of Wales and southern coasts of England tonight and early tomorrow, with 70 mph to 80 mph gusts possible."

I'm in the US but having been reading how awful the weather there is in the UK. Have you experienced and power outages or flooding in your area?

Quite a bit of flooding in many areas, the first one knocked out power in quite a few places and effected the trains so travelling to work was a huge pain. We've had worse, admittedly - but each one is almost 'new' to our weather.

I saw some pictures of flooded areas. They were quite shocking especially to see cars almost fully submerged under water. I can imagine how difficult it must have been to travel anywhere. Just seems like the UK is getting hit with one storm after the other right now. :(

Hopefully there's not a huge amount to come after this next one. Luckily, I'm southeast so this one shouldn't effect us too much, whereas the other two were like direct hits - I believe the last one we had 29 floodwarnings, whereas the highest before us was Scotland with 13. >.<

Glad to hear your area will not get another direct hit this time. Like you stated, hopefully, there won't be a huge amount coming again after this one.
