You ever go on websites that tell you to turn off your Adblock? Perhaps they lock up the entire site until you disable it or hit pause?

I just went on FB and saw this:

They're saying the adblock is blocking normal posts to try to get to me to disable it? Sneaky sneaky.

Just heard earlier that Youtube is trying to crack down on Adblockers too.

I've gotten the messages in the past, usually if it forces me to disable it I just won't visit your website and try to find somewhere else.

I don't mind turn it off if the website doesn't have intrusive ads. I've been on some sites when you can't do anything because the ads are so overwhelming.

Haha. If I saw that, I'd be like, "Good!" Fuck Facebook anyway.

True dat. Also the name I edited it is someone I don't even care to interact with or care what they post :P

I don't really see them to be honest.. I use Adaway on my devices.. and I use the blocklists used by other ad blocking software.. and I do the same on my laptop and desktop using Hostsman and I go to warez and porn sites to update my lists.

I dont use AdBlock because they work with companies that pay them to show you their ads.. which kinda defeats the purpose of using an ad blocker..

And then I use Nord VPN to further prevent tracking.

I do this for privacy and security.. and I have found that often times the ads and trackers used by porn and warez sites often contain malicious code in them, something I learned the hard way with AOL back when I used to sail the high seas as a broke college student looking for software and since then, I have continued to block them..

I update my filters and go to these sites to add whatever new tracker and ad companies they've since added to their sites..

I also use UnGoogled Chromium to make sure that Google's fuckery doesn't touch my system.. I use custom ROMs on my devices for that exact reason too.

Just seen another one on the SF Gate website:

Never heard of Adaway. Just looked it up and it appears to only be for Android devices?

Yes it is.

I am not sure if Ungoogled Chromium has an app for iOS.. I know that I get it from github.. or XDA..

Hostsman is free and it is for Windows.. and I think it might be on github also.. you can also get it at MajorGeeks..

Also some browsers like Vivaldi also have built in ad blockers and it is based on Chrome and it supports extensions.

I use two extensions to block pop ups and remove overlays and elements.

The name escapes me right now but if I remember it, then I'll update this post..
