any plans for halloween 2023?

my city have done a scare maze thing, taking the form of an underground ship, so I'll definitely do that

I am also hoping to go on a train ride through a graveyard. they do it every year, and every year I say I'll do it and chicken out at the last moment- but this year.. nope I'm definitely doing it!.

also on halloween itself I'll give out candy and play apple bobbing because it's such a fun game

We have not done much since our son left. Not really my wife's thing. I'll usually pull out some good ghost stories to read, usually something older like M. R. James or Algernon Blackwood, or maybe watch something appropriate.

you can't go wrong with a good ghost story

I don't know if you're aware of the parcast network, but they do some great ghost story podcasts (as well as other good ones too!)

my favourite is tales, where each wednesday this girl called vanessa richardson dives in to the origins of a fairytale- maybe a well-known one, but often times not

Halloween isn't really a big thing here in Australia where I'm from, I dont got a lot of experience.

LOL. Hallowe'en is what got me hooked on those as a kid. Kraft Caramels and Three Musketeers bars are in that esteemed list as well.

I love three musketeers, first, it was snickers, then milky way, but when I had a 3 musketeers, that was it, that's the best.

As am I. We used to have dressup and a Halloween lunch at our corporate head office where I work but that kind of fizzled over the years even before the pandemic drove a wooden stake through its figurative heart.

It's not really a thing in New Zealand. I don't celebrate it in real life but I do enjoy taking part in it on forums. I grew up being told Halloween is evil blah blah blah.

Well, I'm having surgery on Oct. 26, so my plan at this point is to be resting and healing. Nothing big, just repairing a hernia.

I lost my mother on a certain date and still do fun things on / around that date. She wouldn't want me to sit around feeling sad just because of what the calendar says.
