Apple will unveil the eagerly-awaited iPhone 6 on September 9, according to reports.
The technology giant has scheduled a "big" media event related to its latest mobile phone next month.

Judging by past releases, the iPhone 6 could then go on sale to the public from Friday, September 19.

The iPhone 6, Apple's ninth iPhone model, is expected to be released in two different sizes - 4.7-inches and 5.5-inches - with the smaller of the two to be made available first.

Both versions are expected to use in-cell touch panel technology - built into the screen and allowing for thinner construction than with standard touch panel films - that was introduced with the iPhone 5.

Like its predecessor, the new model is expected to come in silver, gold and space grey.
The iPhone 6 will be powered by new operating system iOS 8, which Apple unveiled at its worldwide developers conference in June.

Anyone planning on buying one?

Won't have one as an upgrade. When it comes to iOS needs, the iPad 2 is enough for me. However, I can say for sure that this year's upgrade is from my old Android 2.3.6 smartphone. Yes, Android 4.4 rocks.

No ma'am. I am very happy with my iPhone 5S. It's going to be my go to phone until I am eligible for another upgrade in a couple years. I personally am a huge Apple iPhone fan. Their phones are unmatched when it comes to simplicity in comparison to its capabilities.

Not at all. I love my Samsung Galaxy S4. I'm a lil behind, I know the S5 is out, but I just got my S4 and couldn't be happier. :)

Another thing to add. The GS5 Mini is out but very expensive. Seriously, $600 USD for a 4x 1.4 Ghz Cortex-A7 CPU, Mali-400MP4 GPU and including all features from the GS4 Mini?! That is just ridiculous. While the latter is cheaper (about $310 USD over here) and runs on a 2x 1.7 Ghz Krait CPU.

Btw: Adreno 305 > Mali-400, because the Adreno on the GS4 Mini supports OpenGL ES 3.0.
