In today's shallow world, looks are the number one priority in everything, from relationships to business. Better looking people have higher chances of hooking up with someone, and business owners are more likely to hire someone who is good looking, especially if the job position involves plenty of face to face interaction with customers.

Outer appearance is the first thing people notice about each other anyway, and, depending on whether they like what they see or not, the possibility for a verbal communication and a possible future relationship increases or decreases.

I think there has to be some level of physical attraction, but having a good personality, a sense of humor and intelligence are most important to me.

I think physical attraction helps initiate a relationship. But that alone isn't going to drive a successful one. You need good qualities. I've met a few women, while beautiful, turned out to be very toxic, immature, self centered, and manipulative. Those are qualities that will destroy a relationship.

You can't discount looks but being good friends is what matters.

This is a two-way street of course. I think it's important but not necessarily required. People can be very attractive and be attracted but personality, humor, and intellect are just as important.

It matters in the beginning because you don't have much to go off of. However once you fall in love, your partner could become less attractive and you wouldn't mind because they're still the same person you fell in love with!
