I need to buy my wife a new vehicle, probably a crossover SUV.
I was considering a Tesla given how my favorite maker, Toyota, have seen huge price increases in recent years... a new Rav4 can run 40k with decent features. I've seen Model Xs go for not much more than that and surely Model Xs are faster, sleeker, and my wife MIGHT prefer one over a Toyota.
That being said: I love Toyotas because they live up to their dependability hype. You buy them and spend money only on routine maintenance.
But what about for Teslas? I've heard a lot about them breaking down, etc., and being impossible to get fixed fast... is that just FUD?
Moreover, I've heard charging installation can cost 5-10k extra... that's sounds insane.
