Perhaps not. Astronomers have been scouring the universe for places where water worlds might have given rise to life, from Europa and Mars in our solar system to planets many light years away. Radio telescopes have been eavesdropping on the heavens and in 1977 a signal bearing the potential hallmarks of an alien message was heard. Astronomers are now able to scan the atmospheres of alien worlds for oxygen and water. The next few decades will be an exciting time to be an alien hunter with up to 60bn potentially habitable planets in our Milky Way alone.

Thoughts

I know they've found plant life on other planets. So that means there is life out there!

I wouldn't mind meeting this fellow:

Stargate SG-1.

You should. It's better than Star Trek, Star Wars and Doctor Who combined. Well, almost.

Watch the movie Stargate first, though. The show picks up where the movie left off.

Maybe I will. I'll see if its on any of the streaming networks I subscribe to.

The show has 10 seasons, mind you, with 20 - 22 episodes per season. I spent my entire last year's winter vacation time binge watching it, and still had two seasons left when I returned to work.

I get intimidated by shows with a lot of seasons and I am just starting out on episode 1. :run:

It's worth it, though. After seeing it all, plus Atlantis and Universe spin-off shows, I finally understand the related references the Internet population loves to make. Instead of beating them, I joined them. :p

So I need to watch it for research purposes. Then I can better relate with all the nerds on the internet. Just kidding :P

Yes, yes, do so. Once you're done, we can engage in Stargate-related verbal jousting, so when I, for example, call you Shol'va, you'll know how to properly respond. ;)

Well until I watch it, here's me when you make references to that show:
