Are you happy with where you're living at?

Why or why not?

I have lived in the town I grew up in . Its a nice town but I want to move one day after my parents are gone. The only time I didnt live here was when I was in college and the reason why I moved back was to run my families business. There rally isnt anything to keep me here but to help take care of my parents.

Reasons why I like where I live:
I can afford a nice 2-bedroom apartment while making less than 6 figures
Auroras (northern lights) are common
It's a small city so I can enjoy all the amenities but still easily get away to the countryside if I want
It's close enough to my family that I can easily travel to see them but far enough away that I'm not expected to make the trip more than a few times a year

Reasons why I dislike where I live:
WINTER IS FREAKING COLD HERE

It's a very nice bucolic setting where I live. There are pros and cons to that, the pros being that it's very clean and quiet (most of the time), but the cons are that we have to drive far to get anywhere.

I really like the country and city I live in, but I do wish it had more stores and amenities nearby, something more like Europe or Japan.
Otherwise, everything else is great.
The area I live in doesn’t have much going on, but moving isn’t easy for several reasons. For one, if I were to sell and move to an area I prefer, it would be much more expensive. While I could still get another place, I’d have to downgrade significantly and lose a lot of money in the process. This city is definitely costly.
All in all, though, I’m happy.

I like where I live. I own a nice house in a nice quiet neighborhood. I can walk for miles in any direction and feel safe. Work is only a 10 minute drive away.

City-wise? Yes. I love this city. Location within the city? Eh. It's not horrible. There are worse places, but I've been having issues with the neighbor next to me for a while (basically ever since she moved in). The location isn't exactly unsafe, but we get some transients setting up tent here and there. Besides, the apartment itself is kind of old. I don't mind it, but I wish I had some more modern amenities like W/D in unit, a bit more space, etc.

Yes and no.

Yes:

  • I live smack dab in the middle of the city. Literally everything is next door or not far at all.
  • I live somewhat in the middle weather wise. It generally doesn't get too hot or cold here.
  • While my neighborhood isn't the richy rich neighborhood, it's still on the upper class side of things. (When I say upper class, I mean you won't find garbage everywhere, unkempt homes, neighbors are nice etc.)
  • Our governor actually cares about us and is doing his best to lead the state into greatness.

No:

  • EVERYTHING CLOSES AT 11PM OR MIDNIGHT! Covid ruined everything. Walmart used to be 24/7, McDonalds drivethrough was 24/7. The only thing around here open after midnight is Taco Bell.
  • Not much to do. We have theaters and a mall, but the mall is barely hanging on.
  • When the weather decides to get bad, it is bad. While we've been fortunate to not be hit at our house, there have been close calls.
